Last night was my ex boyfriend’s last night in town (What? It’s not normal to spend your last night in town with your ex?). We spent the evening at our favorite local eatery, Louis Louis. This a very unique restaurant and a ‘must try’ should you ever find yourself on the Florida’s Emerald Coast.
The menu is a single chalk board. They also have a sister restaurant called The Red Bar that has the exact same menu (crab cakes only on the weekends). The Red Bar is typically a little more crowded, has live music, a busier bar and is open for lunch . Pending what type of evening you are looking for, either restaurant would be a wonderful choice.
Last night we both chose to go with the Panne Chicken ($17). This entree comes with two lightly breaded chicken breasts topped with a fabulous lemon-butter caper sauce (I always get extra!), a hefty portion of mashed potatoes and a spring salad with a tomato vinaigrette. If it is your first and possibly the only time you will be dining at Louis Louis, I would recommend trying the Crab Cakes or the Grouper entree. But, if you don’t like seafood, the chicken is amazing! Clearly, you can’t go wrong no matter what you order.
A few things to remember:
- Check and cash only (ATM available)
- Only open for dinner (5pm~close)
- They do not accept reservations and there is always a wait during the peak season.
